Memento is a contemporary work born from the raw wreckage of personal history. The piece serves as a confrontation with the enduring echoes of childhood trauma. It is a narrative of survival, mapping a jagged and exhausting path toward reclamation and healing.
The choreography rejects the safety of convention to mirror a mind fractured by the past. It physicalizes the weight of isolation and the involuntary nature of memory, using high-intensity movement to echo the fight for autonomy and quiet, searing vulnerability to represent the scars that remain. Its narrative weaves together the agony of remembering with the necessity of witnessing.
Acknowledging that the path forward requires the courage to be vulnerable, this work inspires empathy, understanding, and a feeling of coalescence in its audiences.
NOTE: The work contains some explicit language along with themes and mentions of sexual abuse, eating disorders, depression, suicidal ideation, and other topics that may be triggering for some audience members.
